You are already complete. My role as a therapist is to help you identify and question any belief that would keep you from knowing this completeness. Together, we will use both mindfulness and inquiry to explore the thoughts you believe about yourself, others, events, and the world. There is no thought too dark and no experience too intense to be shared with me. I give you permission to show up with your full humanity—with your joy and sorrow, love and anger.
My therapeutic approach has been informed by my regular practice of mindfulness and inquiry, cognitive behavioral theory, my training as a Buddhist monk, and the two and a half years I spent living at Buddhist monasteries. I have had the privilege to teach mindfulness in a hospital, school, prison, and community mental health center.
