There are many reasons people begin psychotherapy. You may believe what you are experiencing isn’t serious enough or that you should be able to handle things yourself. The truth is that no reason is too small or unimportant for psychotherapy. We all experience times when we can use some extra support.

I understand this and that acknowledging it can be frightening, overwhelming, and freeing all at the same time. I work to build a strong relationship with each client, one that promotes trust, awareness, and understanding. To that end, I see counseling as a collaborative effort in which we are partners who talk with each other, not at each other, without expectations or judgments.

Although I utilize many theories and techniques, my approach begins with the underlying beliefs that you are a unique and capable individual, and how and what we think determine our beliefs, feelings, and actions. Through our collaboration and the use of complementary therapy approaches and techniques, we can work together to uncover and change the thinking and behavior patterns that may be holding you back from experiencing a life that is more rewarding, meaningful to you.

Whether you’re looking to better understand yourself, for some extra support and guidance through a challenging situation, or you’re ready to move in a new direction in your life, I look forward to working with you to achieve your goals.
