Thank you for your interest in therapy. I’m glad you found your way here. I am currently offering virtual sessions for people throughout California and New York. I believe progress begins with compassion for yourself and others. My focus is strength-based, seeking to help you find previously unrecognized resilience, capability and confidence. I support adolescents, adults, and couples on the journey toward self-discovery, empowerment and freedom to live lives of their choosing. Please feel free to reach out with any questions about therapy or working together.
You can expect that I will try to understand, support and gently challenge you. I will make every effort to create a safe environment that will foster healing and growth. I will collaborate with you to make our work useful and relevant to your needs.
I expect honesty and engagement with the process. If you want something, please ask me. If something is not working for you, let me know so we can adjust our approach accordingly. People who find the greatest success with therapy approach it as a commitment to improving their lives. The more you put into it, the more you will get out of it.
The course of therapy depends on your goals and needs. Some people enter therapy wanting to address a specific issue. With focused work, they may notice improvement within months. For people seeking to address a wider array of issues, the work may be ongoing over a longer period of time.
Sessions are 50 minutes unless otherwise stated. Couples work, EMDR and crisis situations often benefit from longer sessions, which may be scheduled if we determine more time would be useful.
One session per week is typical. More frequent sessions may be scheduled as needed.
Yes, I see clients throughout California and New York via phone and video sessions.
While I do not accept insurance directly, I will be happy to provide you with a paid invoice or "superbill" to submit to your insurance provider for reimbursement. Please check with your insurance provider to determine your "out of network" benefits.
