I’ve had the privilege of working collaboratively with my clients on issues surrounding life transitions, grief and loss, interpersonal relationships, self-esteem, personal growth, professional development, substance abuse, aging parents, anxiety and depression. My style is an integrative approach, which means I pull from several therapeutic orientations depending on an individual’s needs and situation. Depth Psychology, Attachment Theory and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy are primary methods with an emphasis on a Jungian approach. Collaboration and support of my clients is an important part of therapy and for those looking to go deeper outside of session, I provide homework and reading resources. I am also certified in massage therapy and am familiar with how the body responds to the stresses of life. Therefore, the mind and body connection is another focus of my practice.
My background includes working for two large law firms, two major entertainment companies and two tech companies. I grew up in Houston and attended college at the University of Texas. After graduation I worked throughout Texas before moving to Los Angeles for 12 years. I returned to Austin 12 years ago to begin my graduate degree at St. Edward’s University and embark on a new career.
On my time off, you might find me running, hiking, reading or playing tennis. I’m an avid fan of Taco Deli, so you have a good chance of spotting me there on weekdays and weekends. I’ve volunteered my time mentoring junior high kids, as well as being a participant and mentor for Team In Training, an organization that runs full and ½ marathons to raise money for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
My favorite quote by Carl Jung is “Your vision will become clear only when you look into your heart. Who looks outside, dreams. Who looks inside, awakes.” I hope you decide to join me and awaken to your life. description about your listing
