With offices currently in Atlanta and Augusta, RiverMend Health Centers offers innovative, integrated, and neuroscience-based substance abuse treatment programs led by renowned experts in the field of addiction medicine. We recognize each client as a unique individual with distinctive needs, who requires an exclusive custom-tailored substance abuse treatment plan for recovery. RiverMend Health Centers’ addiction recovery programs are based on evidence-based treatment principles that focus on every aspect of the underlying causes, the situational and environmental triggers as well as the ongoing lifestyle management that is required for managing a chronic disease. We offer medically intensive detoxification, intensive outpatient and relapse prevention treatment and therapy in a warm, caring atmosphere, with the continuous support of a compassionate clinical team.
Drug addiction is a disease of the brain. Years of studies have repeatedly demonstrated that a lack of willpower is neither the cause for addiction nor the reason why drug users fail to cease their destructive behavior. Addiction treatment begins with recognizing the seriousness of the problem and having the courage to ask for help. Regardless of how long you have been suffering with drug addiction, what drugs you are addicted to, or what other conditions may be co-occurring, RiverMend Health Centers has a treatment program that can help you turn your life around. Our scientifically-driven, comprehensive addiction treatment program utilizes evidence-based protocols and clinical pathways to provide you with the tools necessary to live a meaningful life in recovery.
“Successfully completing a treatment program” for an addiction disorder does not mean you have been cured and that ongoing care is unnecessary. To do so simply sets you up for relapse. The addicted part of the brain will continue to work to try to move you toward relapse if your recovery program does not remain strong enough to keep it in check. To avoid this, RiverMend Health Centers will continue to provide outpatient support groups and resources to help you stay sober. Addiction supports groups are highly beneficial. At a time when you may be feeling isolated by the addiction disease process itself, it is important that you interact on a regular basis with other people who are able to recognize your struggles and offer moral support. To prevent relapse, addiction must be treated as a chronic life threatening condition such as hypertension and diabetes. Lifelong addiction management is key. It must receive continuous attention and monitoring for years to come. RiverMend Health Centers offers treatment for up to 5 years, in decreasing doses and based on documented recovery with appropriate drug test results. We continuously assess our treatment plans to ensure maximum success and to prevent relapse.
