I have been counseling individuals since 1985. I am a volunteer with the Suicide and Crisis Center in Dallas as a group facilitator for survivors of suicide. I am a Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor and have worked extensively with adolescent substance abusers and their families since 1991. In 2004, I completed the requirements to be a Licensed Professional Counselor and have subsequently worked with individuals, couples and families. These clients have come to me to work through issues of grief and loss, substance abuse, marital problems, self-esteem and communication. My private practice endeavor began in September, 2009.
Therapeutically, I use Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Emotional Transformation Therapy (ETT) and Solution Focused Brief Therapy in assisting my clients achieve individual goals. Through the use of ETT, I have found that painful issues can be relieved in a shorter period of time than through traditional therapeutic methods.
My 25 years of experience working in the human services field have prepared me to assist individuals overcome painful issues. I have been privileged to watch adolescents and adults grow and become empowered as each of them goes through their life’s journey.
